Abortion rights group prepares for push to November 2024 election ballot: Floridians Protecting Freedom, a group backed by abortion advocates, is now fundraising for the November election and preparing to push for an amendment to overturn Florida’s 6 week-ban on abortion signed by Florida Gov. St. Pete NAACP joins Tropicana Field redevelopment push: St. Petersburg NAACP is rubber stamping a redevelopment proposal for Tropicana Field. Former leaders are disappointed in the organization for supporting the initiative including Bishop Manuel Sykes, an opponent of the proposal. If approved, taxpayers will spend $600 million on the new redevelopment. St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch is a major supporter of the proposal. (wtsp.com)
