USF Men’s Basketball takes down Pirates 81-59 in championship game: USF Men's Basketball defeated the East Carolina Pirates 81-59 on Friday afternoon in the quarterfinal of the American Athletic Conference Championship. The Bulls were coming off a 76-70 loss to Tulsa, while the Pirates were seeking a second win. Next South Florida will face UAB Wichita State on Saturday, March 16 at 3 p.m. (gousfbulls.com)

Trader Joe’s opening new store in Pinellas County: Trader Joe's is opening a new location in Palm Harbor in Pinellas County. The concept has been slow to expand across the Tampa Bay area. The new store will be at 33591 U.S. Highway 19 North. The grocery store chain is also in South Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch. (wtsp.com)
J.Lo cancels 7 tour stops including Tampa: Latin superstar Jennifer Lopez or J.Lo has canceled 7 tour stops for her “This is Me” concert including her planned stop in Tampa. The notice reads, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. No action is required to obtain a refund.” (variety.com)
Tampa ranked no. 6 on best places to live in Florida: USA Today Homefront has ranked several cities in Florida with Tampa coming in at No. 6 as the “best place to live” in Florida. Interestingly they highlighted the “walkability” of Tampa as well as education with nearly 70 percent of the population carrying a bachelor’s degree. Gainesville came in first for the list.
