Tampa recognized again by survey for Halloween: WalletHub named Tampa one of the top cities to celebrate Halloween, coming in a no. 29. Americans are expected to spend $12.2 billion celebrating Halloween 2023. This weekend's festivities include a haunted ghost ship, Halloween-themed bar crawls, ghost tours, theme park attractions, and more. WalletHub has given Tampa numerous recognitions in the last few years. (thatssotampa.com)
The Tampa Bay Wave HealthTech Showcase is coming on Wednesday, Nov. 1 to USF Health located at 124 South Franklin St. in downtown Tampa. U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor and City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor will be attending the gathering. Panelists will be from the healthcare and tech sectors around the Tampa area. Tickets are $100 and available online. Shaq returns to Tampa for concert: Shaq, also known as DJ Diesel, is coming to Tampa this weekend for Hard Rock's Halloween party, Monsters Ball, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tampa. The concert will happen on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 10 p.m. Tickets are still available and start at $85 as of Friday morning. (cltampa.com)
New fine dining restaurant hitting downtown St. Pete: Chef Ted Dorsey is opening a new fine dining restaurant at the Mahaffey called Sonata. Dorsey is known for his work at The Mill. The restaurant will feature “coastal cuisine presented with Southern hospitality in an elegant atmosphere.” No opening date has been announced for the concept, but they have setup a Facebook page. More luxury condos hit Tampa market: Luxury condos in Tampa selling fast: Marina Pointe, one of Tampa’s upcoming luxury condominium developments in the new Westshore Marina District has announced it has closed 98 percent of the condos in Tower One. Following strong demand for the luxury waterfront condos in Tower One, Fort Lauderdale-based developer BTI Partners is now moving into its second phase. Reservations for Tower Two have just been converted to contracts. Condos range from the the high $700,000’s to over $4 million. (marinapointe.com)

USF women’s lacrosse season kicks off: USF women's lacrosse will host will host St. Leo and Florida Southern for a mini-round exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 28. Most of the team consists of first-year players. There are a number of students still unaware that the school is playing lacrosse.
