New developments are coming to Ybor: Casa Marti is coming to 1220 E. 7th Ave. with 127 rental units. Casa Gomez is coming to 1229 East 8th Ave. with businesses and a potential restaurant, according to Business Observer. The projects are being led by property developer Darryl Shaw and DDA Development. (businessobserverfl.com)
New Japanese dessert shop opening next week in Brandon: Kichi Taiyaki, a new Japanese dessert shop, is opening in Brandon on Nov. 4 at noon at 2020 W Brandon Blvd. The shop will offer taiyaki and soft serve ice cream with flavors including red bean, taro, matcha, nutella, pandan custard, custard and more. There will also be savory taiyaki pastries, which are less common in the U.S.A. including pizza, egg, and tuna with assorted ingredients. The concept will also offer souffle pancakes, which is the jiggly Japanese pancakes that people are obsessed with, as well as bubble tea and bingsu. (kichitaiyaki.com)
USF & TGH expand partnership: Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and the USF Morsani College of Medicine are launching a new residency training program for anesthesiology. Dr. John Hodgson is leading the new program. The program is part of the expansion of partnerships between USF and TGH in Tampa as both entities grow. (floridapolitics.com)
Tampa area domestic violence incident: A Florida man is facing criminal charges after slashing a woman’s arm several times and stabbing a dog, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The incident happened in the 7200 block of Halima Road in Dover. Officials said the suspect is facing charges of aggravated cruelty to animals with a weapon and aggravated battery with a weapon causing great bodily harm. (wfla.com)
Sunset Beach restored: Sunset Beach on Treasure Island has re-opened in Pinellas County after being damaged badly by Hurricane Idalia in August. Government groups spent $6 million restoring the beach. Visitors are asked to avoid stepping on sand dunes at the beach. (fox13news.com)
