Thousands of Tampa Bay residents will run the Skyway 10K on Sunday: The 7th annual Sunshine Skyway 10K is happening on Sunday. The Skyway Bridge’s northbound route will close starting at 3:30 a.m. early Sunday morning and remain closed to drivers until 11 a.m. The southbound route will remain open during the run. (wtsp.com)
Clearwater deli and pizzeria offers diners pizza for breakfast: Mike's Pizza and Deli Station located at 13560 49th Street North in Clearwater is one place offering guests breakfast pizza. The breakfast pizza pie includes scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, and extra cheese. Changes proposed for Lee Roy Selmon Expressway Amalie Arena exit: The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) is planning to move Exit 6B on the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway and remove the exit leading to Amalie Arena. The goal is to alleviate traffic flooding downtown during Tampa Bay Lightning games and other events in downtown Tampa. The plan would also widen Exit 6A. (wfla.com)
Tampa theme park reopens kangaroo habitat area after upgrades: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has reopened its kangaroo habitat called Kangaloom after making upgrades to the area. Guests can feed the animals and also optionally take a guided tour for a fee to learn more about them. The habitat change is part of a number of changes being made to the theme park recently. Gross! 1.2 million gallons of wastewater dumped into Manatee River after mechanical problems: City of Bradenton's Water Reclamation Facility experienced an "operational failure" this week and dumped 1.2 million gallons of partially treated wastewater into the Manatee River. The river is being tested for bacteria. Due to the cooler temperatures, the spill will likely not lead to an algae bloom. (wusf.org)
