Alessi Bakery moving after half a century to another location: Alessi Bakery is moving. The long-running slice of Tampa history is relocating to the old Letter Carrier Building for a modern building. South Florida men’s basketball secures 13th straight win: South Florida men’s basketball team secured their 13th straight win on Sunday, setting a new record. USF is now 21-5 overall and 14-1 in AAC play. The team is being led by Amir Abdur-Rahim, who started in March 2023. AeroMexico launching nonstop service launching this summer between Tampa and Mexico City: AeroMexico is launching a new daily nonstop flight service between Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Mexico City this summer, according to an announcement posted by TPA on Instagram. The route is estimated to generate nearly $70 million in economic impact for the Tampa Bay region. Flights will begin July 2024. Bookings are now available online. (tampaairport.com)
Road rage shooting near Amalie Arena this past weekend in Tampa leads to arrest: A man was arrested Sunday in relation to a road road shooting near Amalie Arena at around 6:30 p.m. in downtown Tampa. The shooting happened near South Morgan Street and Channelside Drive after a crash. The suspect in the incident has been charged with with battery, criminal mischief and two counts of shooting into a vehicle. (wfla.com)
