Downtown Tampa packed with events this weekend, expect congestion: The On Bikes Wonder Ride is happening this weekend in downtown Tampa and there will be multiple events at other venues around the city, including at the Straz Center, Armature Works and Tampa Convention Center. Local coffee food truck now parked in South Tampa: Tampa has a new coffee truck called Bean Bar at 4912 S Lois Ave. outside Dwell Home Market. The concept also has a physical location at 17018 Palm Pointe Drive. The truck sells snacks, pastries, and Cuban coffee. (thatssotampa.com)
Bolts defeated 5-1 by Predators on Thursday night: The Tampa Bay Lightning were defeated 5-1 on Thursday night by the Nashville Predators. The loss begins a five-game trip away after two wins at home. Next the Bolts will face Seattle on Saturday. (thehockeynews.com, tampabay.com)
City of Tampa juvenile citywide curfew draft advances: Tampa City Council is pursuing a juvenile curfew in Tampa after a Halloween Ybor City shooting left two people dead and 16 people injured. Several suspects in the case so far are minors. The curfew would exist 7 days a week citywide and end at 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends. No criminal penalties will be imposed with the curfew. The drafted curfew passed in a 5-2 vote. Councilor Lynn Hurtak is concerned about the proposed law being used to target minorities. (wtsp.com)
