Bolts beat Capitals in Washington D.C.: The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Washington Capitals 2-1 on Saturday night in D.C. Vasilevskiy managed to stop 32 shots during regulation and 2-for-3 in the shootout. Next the Bolts will face the Panthers on Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. (wfla.com)
Historic hotel being restores in Safety Harbor: The former St. James Hotel building in Safety Harbor is being restored at 101 Main St. The hotel originally opened in 1925 and the new owners are planning to rebuild it back to its 1920s appearance with a 36-room boutique hotel. Swim advisory issued for 2 beaches in Hillsborough County: The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) has issued a swim advisory for two Hillsborough County beaches due to fecal bacteria in the water. Swimming is not advised at Ben T. Davis Beach and Picnic Island Beach in Tampa at this time. Samples are currently being made for enteric bacteria. (wfla.com)
New A.I. accounting firm launches in Tampa: 23-year-old Tampa entrepreneur Andres Hernandez is launching an A.I. accounting company called Pezzi. The company has already received roughly $135,000 in seed round funding, according to St. Pete Catalyst. Hernandez is currently working out of Tampa’s Industrious building. (stpetecatalyst.com)
$1 million bonus possible for Bucs QB Baker Mayfield as the football team battles for NFC South: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback Baker Mayfield will receive a $1 million bonus if the Bucs can manage to win the NFC South. The Bucs are in a good place currently and will face the Jacksonville Jaguars today at 4:05 p.m. Mayfield is also on the hunt for a contract extension. (espn.com)
