Suspect charged in Tampa dog park shooting incident after community outcry: Police have a charged a man with second-degree murder and a hate crime in a deadly Tampa dog park incident after an outcry from the community after the shooting incident was originally considered self-defense by police. The incident happened Feb. 2 at West Dog Park. Community members said the victim was allegedly receiving death threats from the suspect for months leading up the altercation. (fox13news.com)
Ciro’s Speakeasy is temporarily closed: Ciro’s Speakeasy in South Tampa has temporarily closed for renovations, according to What Now Tampa. A notice posted to Facebook on March 4 said, “As a reminder, starting today, we must temporarily close due to renovations happening within the Bayshore Royal building. We do not have a date for reopening but keep an eye out for updates because you never know where we might pop up.” (whatnowtampa.com)
Polk County police investigating after man found dead: Police in Pasco County are investigating after a man was found dead in the woods in Holiday on Friday. The dead body was found near Blossom Lake Drive and Dartmouth Drive. The Pasco Sheriff posted on x.com that it appears to be a “delayed discovery of an apparent homicide.” (wtsp.com)
Morning storm cancels 185 flights at TPA: Over one-third of flights or 185 flights out of Tampa International Airport were canceled on Saturday morning. The delays appear to be due to a thunderstorm in the area. Always check your flight status before heading to the airport or picking someone up. (wfla.com)
Vet telemedicine bill awaits signature from Gov. DeSantis: Florida's legislature has sent a bill to the desk of Governor Ron DeSantis to allow veterinarian telemedicine. Access to veterinarians can be difficult in several areas around the state and current law limits the use of the medium for pets. Some veterinarians are opposed to bill and said they need to meet with pets for proper diagnosis. (wusf.org)
