Neighbors unnerved by gunshots fired in broad daylight in Ybor Heights on Monday: Neighbors said gunshots were fired into the V. M. Ybor neighborhood on Monday afternoon. Police said the incident was near North 17th Street by East 19th Avenue. Two gunshots hit the home of an elderly woman. No one was reported injured and neighbors continue to call for more to be done to keep them safe. (wtsp.com)

DRB Group acquires Pasco County homebuilder: Pasco County homebuilder Biscayne Homes has sold to DRB Group, according to a news release. Communities built by Biscayne Homes include the Lagoon Residences at Epperson, Serengeti in Spring Hill, Robin's Cove at Epperson and King Lake at Epperson. Dead body found outside church in Seminole Heights: An investigation is underway after a dead body was found outside a church at the 5700 block of North Nebraska Avenue on Monday morning. The death has been ruled a homicide by investigators with the Tampa Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or Tampa police. (wfla.com)

I visited the Latte Art Showdown at Ybor City Coffee & Tea Co. located at 1907 N 19th St. in Tampa on Sunday night. It was a fun battle between local baristas who showed their latte skills. Attending was free and they had a local DJ (who is also their coffee roaster) and numerous coffee shops represented. Cash prizes were given to the baristas who won the competition. Free beer was generously. provided by Leaven Brewing Co.
