Enjoy millions of lights at Hillsborough County Fairgrounds this holiday season: The Tampa Bay Festival of Lights is happening now through Dec. 31 at Hillsborough County Fairgrounds located at 215 Sydney Washer Rd. in Dover. TPD seeks two suspects in Ybor City club attack: Tampa Police Department (TPD) is seeking two suspects accused of attacking a man after a concert for rapper Nardo Wick at Club Skye, a nightclub in Ybor City on Monday evening just after 1 a.m. Images of the suspects have been released to the public and TPD is asking the public for help identifying the suspects. TECO seeks increased energy cost burden on residential customers: Tampa Electric Company (TECO) is asking the state of Florida for permission to alter how energy base rates are set. TECO is proposing a method that expert say shifts energy costs to residential customers and away from industrial and commercial customers. Hillsborough Co. government leaders are sending letters to try and stop the change. TECO already has the highest energy prices in the United States as Tampa residents face crippling inflation, according to U.S. government data. (wusf.org)
First Friday block party “canceled indefinitely” in St. Pete: Monthly St. Pete party, First Friday, one of the biggest monthly block party events in St. Petersburg, has been “canceled indefinitely” due to a lack of funding. Organizers are asking for business sponsorships to keep the event going. City of St. Petersburg is willing to offer funding if the event shifts west, but organizers want to keep the event where it is at. (cltampa.com)
Annual Holiday Mixer returns from Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber: The Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Holiday Mixer on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the Top located at 214 Madonna Blvd., Tierra Verde. 50 chamber members will join the event. There will be complimentary sample menu items as well as drinks, a silent auction, and door prizes. The gathering is open to the public and is $15 for Chamber Members and $20 for Non-Chamber Members.
