TGH joins human trafficking initiative with Florida AG Ashley Moody: Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has joined forces with Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody in her 100% Club, which aims to raise awareness for human trafficking in Florida. An announcement was made that TGH is supporting the initiative on National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The initiative fights human trafficking using education and training and TGH has already trained hundreds of employees on the issue. (floridapolitics.com)
Long-running Local hardware store in St. Pete up for sale: Palmer’s Hardware in St. Petersburg at 4650 49th St. N is up for sale, according to an announcement posted to Facebook. The business was first opened in 1958 and purchased in 1979 by the current family that owns it. The current owners hope to keep the shop running in the community with new owners. (tampabay.com)
Popular park in Pinellas County could be home to Native American burial ground: Researchers from the University of South Florida (USF) think that Philippe Park in Safety Harbor could be sitting on a Native American burial ground from The Tocobaga tribe. The shelter in question is right next to a playground that is now closed. The county is working with stakeholders to figure out if there are burial grounds on-site and what to do about the situation. Bucs faceoff against Eagles tonight at Raymond James Stadium: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles to finish Super Wild Card Weekend at Raymond James Stadium tonight at 8:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
