Push underway for renewal of Community Investment Tax in Hillsborough County: Hillsborough leaders are pushing forward a proposal to have a draft ordinance to renew the half-cent Community Investment Tax. The tax was initially controversial for funding the Raymond James Stadium with taxpayer dollars. Commissioners voted unanimously on the move and said the tax revenue is essential as the popular is expected to grow by nearly half a million people in the next 25 years. The tax renewal comes as Florida residents and those in Tampa face the highest inflation rate in the United States. (wfla.com, wusf.org)

TGH is one of three Tampa Bay organizations and the number one in healthcare provider ranked in the state. 100,000+ passengers expected on spring break weekends at TPA: Over 100,000 passengers could pass through Tampa International Airport on weekends as spring break gets underway on March 9 and March 17, according to a news release. In addition, at least 2 million passengers could pass through the airport between March 4 and April 8. Passengers are reminded to arrive early and prepare for parking ahead of time. VSPC relaunches Gulp Coast Passport program to support Pinellas breweries: Visit St. Pete/Clearwater has announced a refreshed Gulp Coast Passport program in celebration of 2024 Tampa Bay Beer Week happening this week. The mobile passport helps guide visitors and residents in their journey to soak up the sun and delicious beer at 40 local Pinellas County breweries. The free passport provides craft beer enthusiasts with deals and discounts at participating breweries by checking in with their mobile device. (carloseats.com)
Affordable housing complex in the works in north St. Pete: An affordable housing apartment complex with 95 units is in the works in Pinellas County near 32nd Avenue North and Hartford Street in St. Petersburg. The complex is a partnership between The St. Petersburg Housing Authority and developer Blue Sky Communities. The developer has a good track record of affordable housing projects.
