Hello, I am Carlos Hernandez from CarlosEats.com, back with another update for Tampa Today News. I hope you and your loved ones are safe after Hurricane Milton’s arrival. My family and I evacuated and are thankfully safe from the storm with only some damage.
Much of Tampa Bay is still flooded and without power. 3 million people were without power earlier this morning. My thoughts are with everyone at home and I hope to help support recovery in the area and throughout our state.

First-responders rescue 500+ victims trapped in Clearwater floods after Milton: Over 500+ people were saved by first-responders after Milton flooded apartments. Several calls from residents trapped came during the hurricane, but first-responders could not help them until after the storm passed. Victims were transported to local shelters. (abcactionnews.com)
Major flooding impacts USF area, campus temporarily closed: CNN captured footage of major flooding near the University of South Florida in Tampa. The area looks like a river. First-responders worked to save over 100 people trapped in an assisted living facility. USF has also warned students not to return to campus until they are notified that it is safe. Two homes swallowed in Polk Co. after Milton arrival: Two homes were swallowed by a large hole on Wednesday in Polk County after the arrival of Hurricane Milton. The homeowners were home when the ground collapsed and said the area has faced sewage problems in the past. The cause of the incident is under investigation. (wfla.com)
Tampa launches re-entry map for residents after storm passage: City of Tampa has launched a re-entry map for those returning home after Hurricane Milton, according to a report from Creative Loafing. Flood maps are also available. No map is available yet in St. Pete. (cltampa.com)
Tropicana Field damaged extensively by Hurricane Milton: The roof of the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg was ripped off by Hurricane Milton on Wednesday night. The Tampa Bay Rays said it will take weeks to assess damage, according to the Associated Press. The roof was designed to handle winds wind of up to 115 mph. (ap.com)

Hillsborough County, FL: The Mandatory Evacuation order in Hillsborough County has been lifted. When traveling the roadways, stay cautious. There are still hazards such as flooding, downed power lines and trees, and debris in the area. (facebook.com)
