Margarita Wars cocktail battle returns to Downtown St. Pete on Friday, May 17: Margarita Wars returns this Friday, May 17 to Downtown St. Pete. The annual event is presented by Creative Loafing Tampa. There will be over 22 mixologists battling for who makes the best margarita in town. Tickets are still available online for general admission and VIP. Event is for guests ages 21 years and older. (carloseats.com)
Buchette Spritz Bar now serving wine libations on Tampa’s Davis Islands: Oggi Italian has opened a bar named Buchette Spritz Bar on Davis Islands at 236 E. Davis Blvd. The new bar offers wine-based cocktails, spitzes, bubbles, and wine. Owners said the bar concept was first invented during Italy’s bubonic plague era. (thatssotampa.com)
Local coffee shop expands on St. Pete Beach: Grove Surf + Coffee is has opened its second location on St. Pete Beach at 1309 Gulf Blvd. The cafe offers breakfast and lunch as well as lattes and other beverage choices. The business is owned by Lindsey and Peter Gottschling. (cltampa.com)
Boba by the Bay serving bubbles across Tampa Bay on the go: Boba by the Bay is a mobile food truck serving up bubble tea and fresh lemonade to residents around Tampa Bay. The mobile food vendor is owned by Marine Corps veterans. The vendor can be found at events and can also be booked for birthdays, parties, graduations, and corporate gatherings. (fox13news.com)
New apartment complex in development at Gasworx Ybor City: Developers are planning a 390-unit apartment complex in Ybor City at the new Gasworx project. The project is part of the plans for developer Darryl Shaw to reshape Ybor City and connect the area to downtown Tampa. The project is expected to open in late 2026. (businessobserverfl.com)
