Bookstore opened by Tampa Councilmember Henderson in Tampa Heights offers books for all: Tampa City Councilmember and Hillsborough County Public Schools educator Gwen Henderson has opened Black English Bookstore in Tampa Heights. Henderson is the only Black member of the council and wanted to open a bookstore in a historic Black community. Henderson dreamed of opening a business in the area and found her chance this past year. Black English is located at 401 E. Oak Ave. (tampabay.com)
Pasco County affordable housing development now open: A new affordable housing development called Tanager Square has opened in New Port Richey. The complex offers 88 new affordable housing units and start at $901 a month for those who qualify based on their income. The complex is taking applications from those interested. (wtsp.com)
TGH shows plans for new Surgical, Nueroscience & Transplant Pavilion: Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is planning to open a new TGH Surgical, Nueroscience & Transplant Pavilion. The new state-of-the-art medical building will provide 144 patient beds, 32 operating suites and increased intensive care unit (ICU) capacity. The news comes after a number of new openings by TGH in recent weeks. (prnewswire.com)
New fine dining concept open inside Sarasota car dealership: Sarasota Ford has opened a fine dining restaurant called Le Mans Kitchen inside their car dealership. Ford Chief Experience Officer Mirza Velic said the dealership wanted to capture "Le Men’s history where Ford beat Ferrari in 1966." Diners will have to either purchase a vehicle or get service done at the dealership to visit the restaurant. (wfla.com)
Christmas takeover returns to Intermezzo in St. Pete: Miracle at Mezzo is back at Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails at 1111 Central Ave. in downtown St. Petersburg. The annual event brings Christmas festivities and cocktails for a bar takeover. The menu is available until Dec. 31. Intermezzo owner Jarrett Sabatini says that Intermezzo has the longest running Christmas bar in Tampa Bay. (stpeterising.com)
