Ybor City suspects in Ybor nightclub attack surrender to authorities: Two suspects wanted in an attack outside an Ybor City nightclub that left a victim in critical condition have surrendered to police. The incident happened at approximately 1:17 a.m. on Monday outside of Club Skye when the victim was trying to get an autograph from a rapper, according to authorities. The suspects have been identified by police as 34-year-old Zachary L. Benton and a 15-year-old boy. (wfla.com)
Florida Supreme Court ruling limits Marsy’s Law usage: A decision by the Florida Supreme Court will limit the ability of police in Florida to withhold names after incidents. Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister was disappointed with the court ruling and said he was concerned for victims. Marsy’s Law has long been a controversial rule after it being routinely used by some police forces to shield officer identities in incidents of force. New Mediterranean concept opening in Brandon: Nana Middle Eastern Street Food is opening in Brandon at 1513 W Brandon Blvd on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. The restaurant will host a 3 day celebration with deals and freebies. Thursday, Dec. 7 is 100 percent free food from 11 a.m. to noon; Friday, Dec. 8, is 50 percent off of food from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 9 is 25 percent off food from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Discounts for the grand opening are for walk-in guests only (no discounts on UberEats or online orders). New fitness concept opening in Carrollwood next week: Amped Fitness is opening a location in Tampa’s Carrollwood neighborhood on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 14350 N. Dale Mabry Highway. The fitness concept is also opening 4 other locations around the state of Florida as it expands against the Sunshine State. 2023 Olympia Winning Athlete Derek Lunsford will join for the opening day. Southwest Airlines doubling flights to Havana, Cuba for those eligible: Southwest Airlines is doubling the number of nonstop flights offered from Tampa International Airport to Havana, Cuba. The number of weekly nonstops will rise from eight to 14. Travel to Cuba is currently restricted to 12 conditions. (tampaairport.com)
