Residents push to protect John F. Germany Library as Tampa grows: Local residents are pushing to help declare John. F. Germany Library in downtown Tampa as a historical landmark. The designation would help protect the library from being demolished or altered in the future as downtown Tampa continues to grow. The library was originally opened in 1968. (83degreesmedia.com)
Bayshore Beautiful residents dismayed at 5G towers next to homes: Residents are pushing back against new 5G towers being built in the Bayshore Beautiful neighborhood. Residents say the towers are ugly and concerning, especially since residents are not being consulted before the towers are built. State law currently prevents local governments from having a say on where towers are built. (wtsp.com)
Greenlane opening new location in St. Petersburg: Greenlane, a healthy drive-thru concept, is opening its third Tampa Bay location in St. Petersburg at 8001 4th Street North. The company is working with St. Pete’s Brick Street Farms to help source local produce. Menu items include Ginger Sesame Crunch, Harvest, Mexicali, and Tuscan Sun. (stpeterising.com)
Knights of Sant’ Yago Knight Parade is this weekend: The Knights of Sant’ Yago Knight Parade is Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in Ybor City on 7th Avenue. Over 100,000 people and 100 organization are expected to attend the parade. The 2024 parade Grand Marshal is “The Most Decorated World Champion” Wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
