Two Tampa restaurants named on top “romantic” restaurants in USA by Yelp: Two Tampa restaurants were named by Yelp on the list of "the most romantic restaurants in America." Olivia and Yah Mon made the list. Yelp said they “identified businesses in the restaurants and food categories with a large concentration of reviews mentioning words and phrases such as “romantic,” “date night” and “valentine,” to create the list. Ybor City Museum Society offering tour of historic buildings on Feb. 29: The Ybor City Museum Society is hosting its 12th Annual Buildings Alive! Architecture Hop on Thursday, Feb. 29, from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event offers guests an insider tours of some of Ybor City’s historic buildings. Spring training equipment arrives in Clearwater for Phillies: Equipment for the Philadelphia Phillies has arrived in Clearwater, ahead of spring training for baseball season. 2024 is the 20th anniversary of the Philadelphia Phillies spring training at Baycare Ballpark at 601 N. Old Coachman Rd. in Clearwater. Clearwater Mayor Brian Aungst Sr. was on-site for the arrival of the gear. (wfla.com)
Bassano Cheesecake is planning to close their Safety Harbor location due to an increase of rent by 50 percent by their landlord, according to the owners. The owners plan to relocate to anther space. Their lease does not expire until June 2025, but the owners are looking for a new space now, according to CL Tampa. (cltampa.com)
Pilot hopefuls receive thousands in scholarships from local Tampa Bay group: The Friends of Albert Whitted have awarded scholarships to 30 people interested in becoming pilots. There is a nationwide pilot shortage and one of the biggest problems is access to schooling. The group announced at least $166,000 in scholarships on Saturday, according to Fox 13 News. Tampa Bay Foodies Club Returns:
The Tampa Bay Foodies Club has returned. I am happy to announce that I have re-launched the Tampa Bay Foodies Club. The group will organize using Meetup and host regular events trying restaurants and bars around town. It’s a great way to meet new people and try new places and I will be hosting the events. The last version of the group had over 6,000 members. I’ll share more soon!
