Due Amici & Geo’s Fine Wine & Champagne

Hillsborough County leaders meeting to discuss widening I-75 lanes to address congestion as population grows: The Hillsborough County Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) Board is meeting Wednesday, Jan. 10 to discuss whether to expedite widening I-75 by adding a lane on both sides of the interstate. The project is estimated to cost taxpayers $50 million which is over $8.5 million more than planned by the county due to “inflation.” (abcactionnews.com)
New Shipwreck Saloon pirate pop-up coming soon to Tampa: Get excited for Gasparilla season with a new pop-up at The Orlo House called Shipwreck Saloon at 315 S Plant Ave. The pop-up will be in town on Jan. 26 and Jan. 28. Tickets are sold online and must be purchased before attending. Four rum cocktails will be served during the interactive pirate experience. (thatssotampa.com)
Lawmakers begin laying groundwork for Brightline connection to Tampa: Florida State Sen. Nick DiCeglie (R-St. Pete) has filed a bill to make land available around I-4 for a planned Brightline expansion connecting Orlando and Tampa. The bill directs the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to pay for a rail corridor. City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor thinks the expansion could take four to five years to complete. (wfla.com)
Rock ‘n’ Roll barbershop joins St. Pete’s Moxy by Marriott Hotel project: Floyd’s 99 Barbershop is coming to the EDGE district in St. Petersburg at the new Moxy by Marriott hotel coming soon to the area at 1246 Central Ave. The barbershop has a rock 'n' roll theme and blasts music from the era for visitors. It joins a coffee shop, pilates studio, as well as a restaurant and bar at the hotel. (stpeterising.com)
Healthcare community pushes back against Florida’s Dr. Ladapo once again: Doctors across Tampa and Florida, as well as the federal government are denouncing Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo for calling for COVID-19 vaccines to be recalled. Ladapo has been a major source of controversy since being hired by Governor Ron DeSantis and frequently battled with science experts.
