Tampa women’s soccer team unveiled: Tampa Bay’s new women’s soccer team is named Tampa Bay Sun Football Club, according to an announcement made on Saturday. City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor joined for the unveiling of the new team name and logo. The name came after brainstorming sessions with the public. The team will play at a temporary waterfront stadium near Blake High School. (wtsp.com)
Holiday cheer returns to Wesley Chapel’s Wiregrass mall: The Shops at Wiregrass is bringing back its annual holiday-themed events this season. The fun kicks off with Symphony in Lights presented by AdventHealth Wesley Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 11. The light show will run through Dec. 31 and have hourly shows and snow starting at 6 p.m. each evening. Bucs looking for a win: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the Houston Texans in Texas today at 1 p.m. EST. Homicide investigation underway in Seminole Heights: Tampa Police Department (TPD) is investigating a homicide at the 8400 Block of N Dexter Ave. Officers responded to the incident on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1:47 a.m. Officials said the incident happened after three male suspects entered a residence and demanded money for the victim and then shot and killed the victim. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities. (tampa.gov)
