Ybor City community unites: Local leaders and the community in Ybor City joined together on Monday night for a charity event at Crowbar. The event was named “There’s Good in Ybor.” Proceeds are being used to help address violence in the community. (abcactionnews.com)
Former USF student accused of poisoning neighbor deported to China: A former University of South Florida (USF) chemistry student accused of allegedly trying to poison his neighbor has been deported to China. The student was accused of pumping opioids methadone and hydrocodone into his neighbors apartment, sickening the family. The student is unlikely to face charges now that he is no longer in the United States and had his student visa revoked. The student could be arrested if he ever returns to the U.S. (fox13news.com)
The Floridian Social in St. Pete put up for sale: The Floridian Social, a popular live music venue in St. Petersburg previously known as the State Theatre, is now up for sale, according to a report from Creative Loafing. No asking price has been made public. (cltampa.com)
Tampa Bay Wine & Food Festival returning in April 2024, pre-sale now available: The Tampa Bay Wine & Food Festival is returning from Apr. 9 through Apr. 13, 2024. Pre-sale tickets are now available for the five-day festival. The festival will be adding a new “Experience Water Street” event this year as well as a charity component for veterans. English Celebrity chef Robert Irvine will be joining a special guest this year as well. (carloseats.com)
New gym coming to downtown St. Pete: Pilates fitness gym, [solidcore], is heading to downtown St. Petersburg at The Moxy by Marriott Hotel, according to a new release otained by St. Pete Rising.
