Senior Brain Expo this Thursday: The Global Alzheimer's Platform Foundation will host a Senior Brain Health Expo on Thursday, Nov. 16 at Hyde Park United Methodist Church located 500 West Platt St. in Tampa. The expo is being held as part of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month. The expo will feature free health screenings, local experts on therapy options, information on nutrition and diet and memory screenings. Alzheimer’s Disease impacts hundreds of thousands of people in Florida. (wmnf.org)
Tampa Fazoli’s shutters: Italian fast-casual restaurant Fazoli's located at 4011 E Busch Blvd. has shut down, according to a report from Creative Loafing Tampa. The franchise location opened only 2 years ago in the area. The closest location is now in Plant City at 238 W Alexander St. (cltampa.com)
Winter Village return this week: Winter Village is returning to downtown Tampa on Friday, Nov. 17 and will run through Jan. 1 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. The annual themed event features a snow village, ice skating, Santa Claus, over 40 small businesses, holiday snacks and more. Winter Village is organized by Tampa Downtown Partnership and the Tampa Bay Lightning. (wtsp.com)
Kanji Ramen and Sushi sets opening date: Kanji Ramen and Sushi is opening on Sunday, Dec. 10 in Brandon at 910 Providence Rd, Brandon, FL 33511, according to a social media post from the business. The new restaurant will sell a variety of sushi, bao buns, ramen, set meals and desserts. Hiring fairs are planned for early December. (carloseats.com)
Entertainment lineup announced for 2024 Strawberry Festival: The Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City has revealed upcoming entertainment for the 2024 festival. Performers planned include The Beach Boys, Black Eyes Peas, The Commodores, and Flo Rida. The festival will run from Feb. 29, 2024 to March 10. Advance tickets to concerts go on-sale on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 8 a.m. (fox13news.com, flstrawberryfestival.com)
